Top 500 Chinese Enterprises | |||
Of the top 500 Chinese enterprises in 2003, 112 entered the list for the first time. Data show that the threshold for the top 500 Chinese enterprises in 2003 was much higher than in 2002, with the 500th enterprise having 2.5 billion yuan in business revenue, 500 million yuan more than in the previous year. Of the top 500, there were 69 private enterprises and 53 enterprises invested by foreigners and people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Assets of the private enterprises totaled 602.2 billion yuan, accounting for 2.2 percent of the total assets of the top 500. The top 500 Chinese enterprises have become more competitive
in the international market. Of them, 12 are up to standards of the world
top 500. The FAW Group, which represents manufacturing competence of China,
edged into the world top 500 for the first time. |
