Women Parade Against Diet Claims
Adjust font size:

Four women parade on the streets in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, on July 30 to tell people many weight-loss products they've tried have failed, and that many advertisements are false, China News Service said today.

Xiao Yang, 25, 173-kilograms, along with several of her friends, who are also troubled by obesity, paraded on Xinjiekou square, the most bustling shopping area in Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province.

The four brave women held a paper banner that said: "Are there really scientific and effective weight-loss methods?" and "No more cheats!"

"I have tried all kinds of diet pills in the past 20 years," Xiao said during the parade. "What's worse is, these 50,000 yuan (US$6,250) diet pills did nothing but make me get fatter and fatter.

"I can hardly find a pair of suitable shoes for myself now," Xiao's said in despair.

Xiao said she would never trust any diet pill ever again and she hoped that someone could provide her with real weight loss methods and products.
