A recent survey of 105 girls in Hong Kong found that nearly half of them had lost their virginity before the age of 16, while 35 percent had not considered the consequences of having sex.

 

The study also revealed that 46 percent of the girls had been persuaded to have sex by their partners and about half of those surveyed said their sex knowledge was average.

 

The head of a local youth group warned teenagers yesterday against having casual sex. She said girls should be careful about who they go out with and should let their parents know exactly where they are.
