Following his success with Peacock, Chinese Director, Gu Changwei, is now set to start shooting his new movie, Spring Begins.

 

Gu's new work is set last century, and tells a story of people's dreams and desires. During that time, society developed rapidly with the creation of many new things, like play award and health food. People also changed dramatically.

 

As for the lead actress in Spring Begins, producer Er Yong revealed that both Zhang Jingchu and Jiang Wenli were being considered. Zhang took the lead in Peacock, while Jiang is Gu Changwei's wife.

 

Gu was a cinematographer for several years and shot some renowned movies, including Red Sorghum and Days of Sunshine. He says he can't yet be considered a successful director as he has only directed one work.
