Hong Kong actor and director Stephen Chow has laid aside his sequel to Kung Fu Hustle and has recently turned to preparing for a sci-fi movie. 

Reports earlier said that the lead roles would consist of several kids, but Chow's assistant said that although there will be many kids in the movie, the leading role will still be Stephan Chow himself. 　　

 

Asked why the director would want to shoot a kid-related movie, he explained that Chow had experience working as a host of a kids' TV program early in his career. 　　

 

The assistant continued, saying, "Chow doesn't want to repeat what he's done before and the screenplay of the kung fu sequel has not been finished satisfactorily. So, he decided to try out another genre, and shoot a sci-fi movie first." 　

 

Recently, Chow went to eastern China's Ningbo to scout for locations and cast children actors. 　　

 

The title and plot of the movie has yet to be revealed, while the shooting is expected to begin this May.
