Miami Vice hits American cinemas tomorrow. Famous Chinese actress Gong Li, who is in the movie, has hit her stride in Hollywood.

 

She plays an important role in the film as a drug money launderer who's sleeping with the enemy.

 

The movie is directed by Michael Mann and is the screen version of the eponymous hit television series from the 1980's.

 

After more than a decade as a Chinese cinema superstar, Gong Li has finally made her way to Hollywood blockbusters.

 

She has previously seldom showed interest in roles in Hollywood movies. She explains people approached her to play a girl with only a pretty face, which she had no interest in.

 

She says this time the story is much better, as well as the character. She hopes her Hollywood collaboration will be long-term.
