A senior Chinese military official on Monday attended the premiere of the movie, My Long March, which has been made to mark the 70th anniversary of the Communist Party's epic military maneuver between 1934 and 1935.

The movie, produced by August First Film Studio, was made at the request of the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the People's Liberation Army of China.

Xu Caihou, vice chairman of CPC Central Military Commission, attended the screening in the Great Hall of the People along with other key military officials.

Through the eyes of a young soldier, the movie tells the story of hardship along the two-year journey and eulogizes the army's endurance and firm political beliefs.

About 110,000 people were involved in the shooting of the movie during which the crew traveled more than 15,000 kilometers in four provinces along the Red Army's route 70 years ago.

The Long March is a epic military maneuver carried out by the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army from 1934 to 1935 led by the Communist Party of China.
