Six-Party Talks Breakthrough

The fourth round of six-party talks on the Korean nuclear issue concludes in Beijing on September 19, 2005 with the adoption of a joint statement on the principles for a peaceful and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. The joint statement is the "most significant achievement for the past two years or more," China's chief negotiator Wu Dawei, also vice foreign minister, said at the closing ceremony.
