CPC, KMT Leaders' Historic Talks

General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Hu Jintao and visiting Kuomintang (KMT) Chairman Lien Chan shake hands before their formal meeting on April 29, 2005 in Beijing. It is the first meeting between top leaders of the two parties in 60 years. Lien visited the mainland cities of Nanjing, Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai from April 26 to May 3.
