China's GDP Up, Still Developing

China's gross domestic product (GDP) for 2004 was 15.9878 trillion yuan (US$2 trillion), up 2.3 trillion yuan (US$284.9 billion), or 16.8 percent from preliminary figures, announces the country's top statistician Li Deshui at a press conference organized by the Information Office of the State Council on December 20, 2005, citing the results of a national economic survey.
