Liu Zhihua, former vice mayor of Beijing, has been dismissed from the Beijing Municipal People's Congress, for corruption, according to a bulletin issued by the city's legislature.

The Standing Committee of the Pinggu District People's Congress of the city approved the dismissal of Liu as deputy to the 12th Beijing Municipal People's Congress at a recent meeting, according to the bulletin, published on Friday.

Liu was also dismissed as deputy to the local legislature, says the bulletin.

Liu was removed from the post of Beijing vice mayor for corruption in June this year.

The 28th session of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress decided to dismiss Liu, as the committee has verified the facts of his wrong doings, which have been found to be quite serious.

Considering Liu has violated the discipline of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the government, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC and the Ministry of Supervision has put Liu's case forward for further investigation and prosecution.
