Fijian PM Reiterates One-China Policy

Fijian Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase said in Nadi on Thursday that his country will adhere to the one-China policy, expressing satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations.

 

At a meeting with Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei, he expressed the hope to increase exchange with China at all levels in an effort to enhance mutual understanding.

 

The prime minister also welcomed Chinese business people to his country for investment and cooperation.

 

He, who is in Fiji to attend a dialogue meeting with the 37th Pacific Islands Forum, expressed appreciation with Fiji's one-China stand.

 

He said China is willing to join hands with Fiji to advance the bilateral ties in a steady way.
