HK to Provide Emergency Relief for Typhoon Victims in Philippines
Adjust font size:

The government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has approved two grants amounting to 2.5 million HK dollars (about US$322,164) for emergency relief to typhoon victims in the Philippines.

The decision was made after the HKSAR government accepted the advice of the Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee of Hong Kong, according to government statement.

The two grants from the Disaster Relief Fund of Hong Kong will be given to the World Vision Hong Kong and the Association of Chinese Evangelical Ministry Limited, respectively.

To ensure that the money will be used for right purposes, the committee will ask the World Vision Hong Kong and the Association of Chinese Evangelical Ministry Limited to submit evaluation reports and audited accounts on the use of the grants after the relief projects have been completed.

The Disaster Relief Fund was established in December 1993 for emergency disaster relief in places outside Hong Kong.
