"Great Buddha" Games Aim to Be Top Golf Match in China

The first Great Buddha Cup Golf Match co-sponsored by CCTV and the TaiWei Group is to be held in Beijing in October and aims to become the top golf match in China.

The match will be held at the capital's TaiWei Golf club and invite four of the world's top pro players for an 18-hole round every year.

According to the organizing committee spokesperson, the US$100,000 prize purse will be distributed over all 18 holes, with each hole's value increasing in sequence.

The "Great Buddha" Cup is a business-oriented golf game tailored for television media.

In Cooperation with IMG Group International, the two sponsors, CCTV and Taiwai Group, are focusing on establishing a business stage supported by "Top Golf Games" with a huge potential market value.

As one of the sponsors, CCTV will broadcast the event live in China and around the world.
