Women's Football Team Held 1-1 by Mexico

China were held 1-1 by Olympic debutantes Mexico in their second match at the Olympic women's football tournament in the Pampeloponnisiako Stadium here Saturday.

Ji Ting hammered home China's equalizer in the first half. 

Ten minutes into the game, China, who lost to world champions Germany 8-0 in the first match, squandered a scoring chance as defender Teng Wei's shot went wide.

Mexico's No 9, Domionguez Mabel out-ran Chinese defenders and opened the scoring with a right-footer.

China pressed forward and forced four corners in two minutes but their efforts of salvaging an equalizer were turned down by Mexican goalkeeper Tajonar Pamela.

China finally got the equalizer and their first goal in the Pampeloponnisiako Stadium when Ji Ting fired home within the box 34 minute into the match.
