Benoit Peschier of France won the men's K1 gold medal at the 28th Olympic Games on Friday.
The French, ranked 12th in the world, had accumulated time of 187.96 seconds for the title. Briton Campbell Walsh, who led the rankings after the semi-finals, took the silver at 190.17. Fabien Lefevre, also from France, had the bronze at 190.99.
