Chinese Duo Ousted at US Open

Chinese duo Zheng Jie and Yan Zi suffered a disappointing 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 defeat by Liezel Huber and Tamarine Tanasugarn in the second round of the women doubles at the US Open.

They clinched the first set through a tie-break, but squandered too many chances in the following sets, thus losing the opportunity to advance into the last 16.

They will now return home and tune up for the upcoming China Open.

On another court, a mixed couple made up of China's Peng Shuai and Chinese Taipei's Li Huizhi made it into the next round, coming back from 1-0 down to victory in three sets.
