Ping-Pong World Cup to Open in Hangzhou

The 2004 Table Tennis World Cup is set to open next month in east China's Hangzhou city in Zhejiang Province. 
 
The five-day tournament includes competitions for men's and women's players in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

32 table tennis players including world No.1 women's player Zhang Yining, Swedish veteran Jan-Ove Waldner, and Athens Olympic champion Rye Seung-min of South Korea will compete for the world title.

It is the first time the men's and women's tournament will be held in the same city.

The 2004 event in Hangzhou will be the 25th men's and the 8th women's table tennis World Cup.
