China Sweeps Japan Open

Despite the elimination of Olympic silver medallist Wang Hao and world number one Wang Liqin, China still managed to win all four ping pong titles at the Japan Open.

In women's events, China left no room for other competitors with all four semi-final spots.

In the finals Olympic champion Zhang Yining proved her quality again by clinching the singles title while the Niu Jianfeng and Guo Yue won the doubles.

In men's, Wang Liqin and Yan Sen crushed Chinese Taipei's ko lai-chak and Li Ching in the doubles final.

Youngster Chen Qi made it a clean sweep for China when he beat Chinese Taipei's Chuan Chih-Yuan in the men's singles final.
