Richest Women Aims at Beijing 2008

The granddaughter of late shipping billionaire Aristotle Onasis is set to make a bid to ride for the Greek equestrian team at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. 

According to the Avlona Equestrian Club, Athina Roussel, who is considered the richest woman in the world, would join the club in order to compete in national and international competition with the team.

The club also said the 19-year-old would train for the Greek national equestrian team and the 2008 Olympics.

The heiress of Aristotle Onassis' billions lives with her father and stepfamily in Switzerland.

Athina's mother died in 1988 and left the family fortune of an estimated 2.7 billion dollars to her.
