CBA to Sign Ex-NBA Player

CBA Club Fujian Xunxing has been working on introducing a former NBA player in hopes of helping enhance the team's poor performance.

Eric Chenowith, a former Los Angeles Lakers' bench center, arrived in Fujian Monday afternoon.

Fujian club is in the process of registering the former NBA bench player at the administration of CBA League. Eric is hopefully to play against Bayi Deers Wednesday.

Fujian, with a 6-18 game record, is now ranking second from bottom in the south division of the league. They desperately need a powerful center to strengthen their inside.

Eric, a star player in Kansas University, played in NBDL for two years and then singed a contract with the Lakers in 2003. He scored an average 8.1 points and had 4.7 rebounds when Shaquille O'Neal was absent.
