President of the International Volleyball Federation or FIVB Ruben Acosta has arrived in Beijing for a six-day visit to the host city of the 2008 Olympic Games.

Acosta will inspect Olympic venues and have meetings with Beijing Mayor Wang Qishan, who is also executive president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games or BOCOG), and Liu Peng, president of the Chinese Olympic Committee or COC.

Yang Shu'an, BOCOG executive vice-president, greeted Acosta at the airport.

Acosta has been guiding the FIVB since first elected as president in 1984 in Los Angeles.
