Monarchs Down Mercury to Top WNBA Standings

The Sacramento Monarchs downed the Phoenix Mercury 73-61 at home to extend their winning streak to three games.
 
Yolanda Griffith led the Monarchs with 16 points and seven rebounds, while DeMya Walker added 14 points and eight rebounds.

Chinese player Miao Lijie had two points and one assist for Sacramento in her eight minutes' show.

Penny Taylor scored game-high 24 points for the Mercury.

The Monarchs have won six of seven matches they've played in the regular season and top the WNBA standings.

They will play the Sparks at Los Angles on next Monday. The team defeated the Sparks 81-53 at home in their latest clash on June 4.
