12.2 Billion Invested for Olympic Venues

Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform released "Beijing major construction projects 2005" recently, which includes five projects of Olympic venues and the auxiliary facilities, with a total investment of 12.2 billion yuan.   
 
The investment for 60 key construction projects including 137 sub-projects confirmed this year totals 251.6 billion yuan, and the planned investment this year is around 87.94 billion yuan.

There are altogether 137 sub-projects, 71 new sub-projects. A total of 22 sub-projects will be completed within the year.

The total investment for five Olympic venues stands at 30.7 billion yuan; the planned investment in 2005 reaches 12.2 billion yuan, accounting for 13.9 percent of that of the key construction projects, including new Olympic venues, reconstruction and extension project, temporary venues project and other auxiliary facilities projects as well.

Additionally, the arrangement of Beijing municipal construction project highlights "six importance":

I: The relevant projects of Olympic venues and other auxiliary facilities;

II: The municipal projects that have been selected as the national key construction projects;

III: The large-scale projects such as energy, infrastructure as well as pillar industry;

IV: The sci-tech projects and those that can give impetus to technological advancement;

V: The trans-district projects that are conducive to the development of municipal economy and social progress;

VI: The large-scale construction projects.

The top priority of these key constructions is enlargement from former infrastructure projects to the construction of Olympic venues and auxiliary facilities.
