Jiao Jian Excluded from National Team

Jiao Jian has become victim of head coach Jonas Kazlauskas' reduction plan.

Jiao, who had been selected to the National team several times, left as the first victim on July 2.

According to some insiders, three to four more players will leave the national squad after the July 15 four-nation competition.

Jiao Jian, once a shining star in the Beijing Shougang Basketball Team, has suffered many setbacks during his sporting career.

In October 2003, he was suspended for five league matches because of affray. In spite of that, Jiao Jian managed to step out of the shadows to get selected as one of the All Star Payers of CBA later for the fifth successive year.

In May of 2004, Jiao Jian failed to be included in the National team for the Athens Olympiad.
