Four-Nation Competition Moves to Shanghai

The Four-Nation Basketball Competition has moved to Shanghai after the completion of the Harbin Leg.

China, Australia, Russia and Cuba have all arrived in Shanghai for the tournament, which runs from July 13 to 15.

China finished second in Harbin, losing to Australia.

The team's Australian head coach Tom Maher says China should further improve their competitiveness.

Maher believes China is a strong title contender, despite the absence of two top players who are now playing at the US league, the WNBA.

Team leader Bai Xilin says the Chinese women faced a stronger challenge at the four-nation tournament than they had at the Asian Championships.
