Peng Shuai Rises to 31 in WTA Rankings

Chinese youngster Peng Shuai rises to 31 in the newly released WTA rankings, creating the highest record for Chinese women players in the world.

The other two Chinese players Li Na and Zheng Jie rank 45 and 70 respectively.

In addition, Kim Clijsters, who just took the champion at the JP Morgan Champs, went back to eight.

The first five are American Lindsay Davenport, Russian Maria Sharapova, French Amelie Mauresmo, Russian Kuznetsova, and Belgian Justine Henin.
