China's Zeng Shaoxuan booked one of the four spots reserved for lucky losers in the China Open ATP tennis tournament as he stunned Toshihide Matsui of Japan in straight sets in Beijing on Monday.
Being forced to win on tiebreaker, Zeng beat the third seed in qualifying round 6-4, 7-6.
Nathan Healey from Australia also qualified for the main draw of the 500,000 US dollars ATP tournament after making short work of compatriot Ashley Fisher 6-4, 6-0.
The other two berths were occupied by Amir Hadad from Israel and Luka Gregorc from Slovania after they raced past Huntley Montgomery from the United States 6-1, 6-4 and China's only other survival Yu Xinyuan 6-7, 6-1, 6-2 respectively.
Men's singles event at the annually tourney, which is slated from September 10 to 25 at the Beijing Tennis Center, has gotten underway with five first round matches to be played on Monday.
