Wang Meng won the women's 1000m race to celebrate her solo gold-medal sweep, except the 3,000m, at the ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating in Hangzhou on Sunday.

South Korean Ahn Hyun-Soo took the men's title of the day.

The women's final saw a one-side battle with three finalists from China and only one from South Korea.

Before a sparse crowd at the Huanglong Stadium, the World No.1 in 2004 edged her teammate Yang Yang (A) to win the final in one minute 30.172 seconds.

Yang, the 2002 women's 1,000m Winter Olympic champion, took the silver in 1:30.216, followed by Jin Sun-Yu from South Korea in 1:30.258

Wang, who won the women's 500m and 1,500m races, failed to finish the 3,000m event for impeding, but won the women's overall title with 102 points.

Yang Yang ranked second with 58 points while Jin Sun-Yu third with 39.

Ahn came back strongly in the final sprint to surpass Chinese skater Li Jiajun to win the men's 1000m in 1:26.466. Li, world record holder of the event, took the silver medal in 1:26.572.

Ahn's countryman Lee Ho-Suk was third in 1:26.666.

Ahn, who won the silver medals in 500m and 1500m, beating Li in the men's overall ranking with 97 points, while Li, won the 500m title, placed second with 68 points. Lee Ho-Suk of South Korea was third with 52 points.

The second stage of the World Cup will be held on October 7-9 in Seoul, South Korea.
