Li Xiaopeng Wins Silver at Gymnastics Worlds

China's Olympic champion Li Xiaopeng won the silver medal on men's parallel bars at the gymnastics world championship yesterday in Melbourne.

Defending champion Li, hopefully to seize men's parallel bars' gold for China was hindered by a foot injury. But he managed to bear the pain by a neat land before he left the parallel bars with the help of his coach. Li finished with 9.675

A few days ago, Li failed in men's pommel horse preliminary out of his injury. 

Slovenian athlete Mitja Petkovek took the gold medal with 9.700 points.

China's Xiao Qin, who won the men's pommel horse Friday, finished sixth on men's horizontal bar.

In women's competitions, China's teenager Zhang Nan finished fourth on the beam, followed by Fan Ye eighth.
