Chinese Teen to Play at Aussie League

16-year-old Liu Xiaoyu is expected to join the Sydney Kings of the Australian Basketball League ------ NBL.

 

The 1.88m-tall teenager is a point guard of CBA Champions Guangdong Hongyuan. He is also a member of the National Youth team.

 

The Sydney Kings are three-time NBL champions. The Australian giants promised that Liu Xiaoyu will enjoy the trainings as provided to first team players. Liu will also be free to play for China at international arena.

 

China had long been the dominant force in Asia, producing world famous players such as Yao Ming of the NBA.

 

Yao's teammate at Shanghai Liu Wei was invited by the Australian league NBL to participate in the league's all-star game. It's reported that Liu Wei is likely to join the Perth Wildcats.

 

Meanwhile, another NBL powerhouse the Melbourne Tigers is also in the process of their China Operation, with the intention of taking in a Chinese player. They invited national player Zheng Wu for training last year.
