Soccer: 2006 Asian Champions League Draw

Dalian Shide and Shanghai Shenhua came out of the hat in Groups E and G for the group stage of the 2006 Asian Champions League.

On their return to the continental competition after a year's absence the China Super League champions face their Vietnamese counterparts Da Nang plus the J-League champions and the Korean FA Cup winners in Group E.

In Group G CSL runners-up Shanghai Shenhua, who also played Asian Champions League football two years ago after winning the last Jia A title in 2003, have been drawn against Provincial Electrical Authority of Thailand, Dong Tam Long An of Vietnam and Persipura Jayapura of Indonesia.

2006 Asian Champions League group-stage fixtures involving Chinese teams:

Matchday 1 (8 March)
Group E: Da Nang (VIE) v Dalian Shide
Group G: Shanghai Shenhua

Matchday 2 (22 March)
Group E: Dalian Shide v Korea FA Cup winners
Group G: Persipura Jayapura v Shanghai Shenhua
