China's Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao have snatched a silver medal in the pairs event at the figure skating Grand Prix series final.

The Chinese duo, who stood fourth after the short program, delivered a clean performance in the free skating for a total of 186.12 points.

World and European champions Tatiana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin of Russia won the gold with 193.60.

German pair Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy finished third.

Former world champions and 2002 Olympic bronze medallists Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo of China, the winning pair in the past two years, have been sidelined due to Zhao's foot injury.
