A group of five Chinese explorers has climbed the highest peak in Antarctica early this morning, Beijing Time.

The 4897-kilometer Vinson Massif was the explorers' last stop in Antarctica following their arrival in the South Pole last week.

The team started their Antarctic tour on December 1st.

Over the past three weeks, they have walked 120 kilometers across the Antarctic ice sheet reaching the South Pole on December 16th.

Wang Yongfeng and two teammates have become the first Chinese explorers to fulfill the “7'2” adventure grand slam, which includes the seven highest summits and the two poles.

The Chinese exploration team is expected to return on January 19th.
