Meng Da made a game-tying 3-pointer in the regular time to pull down a 133-131 overtime win over the Yunnan Bulls for the Jiangsu Dragons on Wednesday in the eighth round of the Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA).
Center Tang Zhengdong, who had 42 points, was fouled out down the stretch before Meng drilled in a 3-pointer near the middle line to level it on 114-114.
Point guard Hu Xuefeng made 3-out-of-4 free-throws in the overtime to insure the seventh victory for the away team and the second place on the standings behind the Guangdong Southern Tigers.
The defending champion Guangdong kept its unbeaten record with a 104-86 win over the Shandong Lions at home thanks to Yi Jianlian's 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Zhu Fangyu's 26 points.
Chen Lei took the game into overtime with an identical 3-pointer for Beijing Ducks, but the Ducks failed to make another turn-around win, losing 94-89 to Zhejiang Cyclones.
After losing three games in the past four round, last-season's runner-up Bayi Rockets beat Shanxi 93-82 with pivot Wang Zhizhi still on the injury list.
The military team, the only team that cannot introduce foreign players in the CBA, forced out 27 turnovers to grab the victory.
In other matches of the round, Liaoning Hunters defeated Fujian SBS 106-98, Xinjiang beat Zhejiang Guangsha 121-98, Shanghai Sharks defeated Shannxi Kylins 106-94, Jilin Northeast Tigers beat Dongguan 124-108.
