Football stars from north China's Super League teams outshone their counterparts from the south to win an exhibition match in Jinan, Shandong Province.

The north side beat the south 3-2 thanks to goals from Du Zhenyu, Zheng Zhi and Han Peng.

Brazilian import Vicente, playing for Xi'an Chanba, contributed two goals for the south.

In an award ceremony before the match, national midfielder Zheng Zhi from Shandong Luneng was crowned Super League Player of the 2005-06 Season.

Zheng was one of the driving forces in helping the team claim the league crown from defending champion Dalian Shide.

His teammate Li Jinyu was named Top Scorer of the Season, with a total of 26 goals spread over 28 league matches.

Luneng's head coach Ljubisa Tumbakovic from Serbia and Montenegro was awarded Coach of the Season, while the award for Young Player of the Season went to Shanghai United FC's goalie Wang Dalei.
