Li Tao brought Singapore the first swimming gold at the Doha Asian Games on Thursday, the last day of the event, as she emerged as the surprise winner of the 50m butterfly.

Li was off to a quick start with the fastest reaction time of 0.71 seconds before she charged to the win in 26.73.

The 16-year-old, born in China, bagged a bronze in 100m fly Saturday.
