China secured a gold in the badminton mixed doubles event at the 15th Asian Games by setting up an all-Chinese final on Friday.
Collecting the first point with a forehand smash from Zheng Bo,the newly-combined pair Zheng Bo and Gao Ling took charge of the whole game and claimed a 21-11, 21-13 victory over M Tazari Mohd Fairuzizuan and Wong Pei Tty from Malaysia 21-11, 21-13.
The third-seeded Xie Zhongbo and Zhang Yawen needed more time to finish off their opponents, beating the second-seeded Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam from Thailand 21-11, 21-19.
The two Chinese pairs are going to play in the final later this evening.
