WCBA All-star Games to Be Held in Yunnan

Women's Chinese basketball Association (WCBA) All-star Games will be staged in Qujing, Yunnan Province on Saturday, organizer announced yesterday.

The former Sacramento Monarchs of WNBA Miao Lijie will lead the Northern Team against the southern opponents, which features her WNBA teammate Sun Feifei.

The Games is organized by Chinese Basketball Association, Qujing municipal government and sponsored by Lide Real Estate, Tebu, Sangou Distillery and spalding.

After the All-star Games, Sui, Miao and Chen Nan will head for the United States for WNBA pre-season training camp.

Miao and Sui played for the Monarchs last season but managed modest 1.7 points per game and 1.4 each.

China's first WNBA player was Zheng Haixia, who played for the Los Angeles Sparks in 1997 and 1998, the league's first two seasons.
