Chinese tennis duo Yan Zi and Peng Shuai cruised to the women's doubles semifinals at the China Open with a comfortable 6-1, 6-4 victory over Eleni Daniilidou and Jasmin Woehr Thursday.

The newly combined Chinese pair displayed irresistible form in the opening set, notching up a 5-0 lead when the Greek-German pair were troubled with unexpected fatigue.

Daniilidou and Woehr improved their serves in the second set in the hope of a comeback. But their effort was thwarted by the host pair who demonstrated better skill and fitness.

Yan and Peng will play Taipei-based Chuang Chia-Jung and Hsieh Su-Wei on Saturday.
