Wang crowned men's 400m at Indoor Games

Wang Liangyu of China took victory in the men's 400 meters sprint at the 2007 Asian Indoor Games in Macao on Wednesday.

 

The 23-year-old Wang led throughout to clock 46.08 second to rewrite the games record. The previous games record was set by Iran's Mohammad Akefian at 47.83 in 2005 in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

"I am happy to win the final, but this is not my personal best." said Wang, "I thought I could run better."

 

Dodampe Amarasekaralage Don Prasanna Sampath Amarasekara from Sri Lanka finished second in 47.09 while Pojaroen Jukkatip of Thailand took the bronze by clocking 47.40.
