Zhang Yining takes injury break
Adjust font size:

World number one women table tennis player Zhang Yining will miss the upcoming 2007 Tournament of Champions in Changsha, central China's Hunan Province, due to injury.

Zhang's place will be filled by her compatriot Li Xiaoxia, who claimed the women's singles title at this year's ITTF Pro Tour Grand Final, reported website Sina.com.

Zhang's absence will also lift Chinese promising star Guo Yue to the first seed of the event, while veteran Wang Nan is second and Li Xiaoxia third.

However, the injury will not hamper Zhang taking part in the qualifying round of the Beijing Olympic Games.
