Dallas finally netted eight-times All-Star point guard Jason Kidd on Tuesday as the Mavericks completed a blockbuster eight-player trade with the New Jersey Nets.
The Mavericks said on their website that they also received promising forward Antoine Wright and veteran forward Malik Allen from the New Jersey Nets, who will acquire guards Devin Harris and Maurice Ager, center DeSagana Diop, forwards Keith Van Horn and Trenton Hassell and first-round draft picks in 2008 and 2010 from Dallas as exchange.
Kidd, who turns 35 next month, made his NBA debut with the Mavericks in 1994. He left for the Phoenix Suns in 1996 before joining the Nets five years later.
Dallas, which currently is sixth in the conference standings, lost to the Miami Heat in the 2006 NBA Finals and claimed the top seed in the West last season before being ousted by the eighth-seeded Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs.
