The Tanzanian National Assembly has ratified the accord to abolish visas for Tanzanians and Mozambicans travelling between the two countries.

 

Some lawmakers even proposed to extend the 30-day visa-free period for Mozambicans and Tanzanians to 90 days so as to further facilitate their activities in trade and other social events, according to reports reaching here from Dodoma on Wednesday.

 

The Tanzanian parliament is currently in session in Dodoma.

 

The visa exemption will be for both diplomatic and ordinary passports.

 

Mozambique has already ratified the visa-exemption accord, according to the Tanzanian home affairs minister.

 

During Tuesday's parliamentary session, issues were also brought to mention on visa exemption with Zimbabwe, Malawi and South Africa.
