Dutch Tourist Robbed, Wounded in Zanzibar

A Dutch tourist has been robbed by a gang of armed bandits in Zanzibar, according to reports reaching to Dar es Salaam on Thursday.

 

The Dutch national was identified by Zanzibar police sources as Coshor Lad Minar.

 

The Dutch tourist got mobbed early this week near the Nungwi Tourist Hotel in northern Zanzibar, according to Zanzibar Unguja North Regional Police Commander Mussa Ali Mussa.

 

But the wounds he sustained in his hands and waist during the robbery were not serious.

 

The bandits, armed with home-made weapons, made away with Minar 's bag containing a digital camera, a mobile phone and 300 euros in cash.

 

Last year, a group of bandits robbed the Nungwi Village Hotel and robbed millions of foreign and local currency.

 

The Zanzibar police are searching the isles for the bandits of both incidents.
