Airbus Receives 277 A320 Orders in October
Adjust font size:

Airbus said on Friday that it received orders of 277 A320 planes in the single month of October, compared to a total of 226 A320s recorded in the first nine months of 2006.

Airbus said that the orders of the single-aisle A320 planes were among the overall orders of 282 aircraft in October.

Airbus announced a 150-plane order from China on Oct.26 when French President Jacques Chirac was on his visit to China.

Also on the same day, the new low-cost American airline Skybus announced an order of 65 Airbus A319 planes.

However, US freight giant FedEx said on Tuesday that it had canceled an order for Airbus's troubled A380 super jumbo jet, ordering instead 15 new Boeing 777 cargo planes.

In terms of delivery, Airbus turned over 33 planes last month, including 27 from the A320 family, four twin-aisle A330s and two four-engine A340s, for a total this year of 353.
