An airplane of the Singapore Airlines landed safely at the Beijing Capital International Airport Wednesday morning after its engine caught fire.

No injuries have been reported, said sources with the General Administration of the Civil Aviation.

The Boeing 777-200 passenger aircraft, en route from Beijing to Singapore, carried 227 passengers and 17 crew members.

After the crews put out the fire in the air by 10:32 a.m, the plane landed safely at the airport, it said, attributing the fire to engine failure.
