Malaysia Airlines to Try New Transit Route to China
Adjust font size:

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has agreed to start a new transit flight route from Eastern Malaysia to southern China, according to local media on Thursday.

The new transit route will start from Miri, a coastal city in Eastern Malaysia's Sarawak State, to Guangzhou and Hong Kong, China, with a stop in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

MAS' agreement to start the transit flight was a small breakthrough to bring more tourists to Miri, Sarawak state officials said.

The Malaysian national carrier would be working on the details of the proposed flight and set the date for the flight commencement, they said.

The Malaysian officials also urged MAS to operate direct flights to the two destinations.
