Adjust font size:

The annual night touring boats on West Lake, Hangzhou resumed their voyages on Saturday, providing more travel highlights to tourists during summer time.

These night touring boats include the larger "pleasure boats" able to carry dozens of tourists, as well as the smaller "self-drive boats" that carry several tourists. All the boats are equipped with GPS.

The pleasure boats will operate along a routine line, covering the most wonderful sceneries on the lake. A trip on the pleasure boat takes about 50 minutes.

Self-drive boats will tour on restricted courses, but offer tourists more flexibility and freedom while onboard.

Around May 20th, tourists will be able to watch performances as they indulge themselves in the enticing night scenes on West Lake's most luxurious pleasure boat, the Quanrao, according to Lu Shaorong, a manager of the West Lake Touring Boat Company.

The night touring boats will continue to operate until October.

Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang province, is one of the most charming of tourist cities. West Lake is one of the city's major tourist attractions, providing refreshing scenery to tourists and local citizens all year long.
