China successfully launches a demonstration flight with Air China's Boeing 747-700 on a blend of conventional and hydrotreated renewable jet fuel on Friday, Oct. 28 2011. The flight is conducted under the auspices of a U.S.-China energy cooperation program launched in 2009, including Air China, PetroChina, Boeing and Honeywell company UOP. The demonstration flight used fuel derived from biomass grown in China, and evaluated the potential for establishing a sustainable aviation biofuel industry in China. [Sina.com]
